Welcome
to the Alaska Coalition's website
for the
Bureau of Land Management's draft
East Alaska Resource Management Plan and
Environmental Impact Statement!

While the BLM's web pages are disconnected from the internet to make modifications
to enhance their security, we have decided to offer this site to provide general
information and contacts to help YOU become involved in the East Alaska Resource
Management Plan (RMP) public planning process.
The BLM is currently creating a long-term land use planning document for over
7.1 million acres of public lands and valuable wildlife and recreation resources
in eastern Alaska. This RMP will establish the guidelines and objectives that
will direct federal land management decisions on these rivers, lands, and
resources for the next 20 years or more!
Public participation is an essential requirement of this process.
The
Draft East Alaska RMP was released for public review in late April 2005. According
to federal regulations, the public is allowed to review the draft plan and
submit comments and concerns to the BLM for a 90-day period. The public
comment period for this draft plan will end July 28, 2005.
Due to the inconvenient timing of the BLM website security maintenance project,
the Alaska Coalition would like to facilitate public awareness and
involvement in the draft RMP process before the comment period deadline.
Alaska
public lands affected by the East Alaska Resource Management Plan:
BLM needs to know what YOU know about these 7.1 million acres of public lands and valuable resources in eastern Alaska in order to make informed management decisions. Join us in submitting comments to BLM to share our vision of how these public lands should be managed for the enjoyment of future generations.
